Craven Branch 810 of the Freemasons has donated £1,000 to the Friends of Airedale Hospital towards the completion of the garden, which is particularly aimed at patients with dementia and their visitors

Students of Old Forge School District’s kindergarten class were serenaded recently when violinist and composer Bro. Brendan Bordick-Lesavage performed. Besides playing for the children, Bro. Brendan also made sure to teach the students about the violin, its parts, and all of the sounds that it can make.
On Wednesday, 29th June, Brethren from Arenal Lodge visited El Preventorio children’s home in Real de Gandia to present another cheque for over 1600 euros to buy much needed equipment for the staff and children. Immediate Past Master WBro William Turney visited, with his successor and new Master WBro Bob Bullingham, and the Lodge Treasurer, WBro Ian Brown. The cheque was presented to the director of the home, Sra MariaJosé Castelló Morant who thanked the Brethren warmly for this cheque and for the other monies raised by the Lodge over the past two years.
Many of us grew up in the 1960s and 70s where, for some, it was a time of making out a living repairing cars, exterminating pests or hop picking. Boys were taught to fish by their fathers during the weekends, cast after cast plopping into willow-shaded water, while weekdays were spent at the secondary school where, for some, gardening and metalwork were still being taught. Fishing is an unsentimental memoir of that time and nothing has changed for those boys today. As adults they continue to carry out the traditions of fishing as taught by their fathers and pass this knowledge on to the children who have a love for the sport.

Ashlar Lodge No. 98 and the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Florida honored First Responders at an event on July 21st recognizing Outstanding Firefighter, Outstanding Law Enforcement, and Outstanding Paramedic certificates were presented to five officers.

Devonshire Freemasons have purchased new match day kit for the Sidmouth Raiders Under 14s football team. Manager Wade Monaghan commented, ‘We are absolutely delighted with our new kit. The boys are growing and the old kit was getting a little tight on them.’
