Donation from the Freemasons boosts IT provision at Worth Valley Primary, Keighley

Geoff Smith, the Worshipful Master of The Lodge of the Three Graces, Haworth, with a pupil during the presentation to Worth Valley Primary School A KEIGHLEY school will be able to buy new IT equipment thanks to the generosity of a Masonic lodge.

A donation of £1,000 was given to Worth Valley Primary, after teacher Caroline Oram applied to the Provincial Grand Master’s Fund, a body working under the umbrella of West Yorkshire Masonic Charities Limited. Mrs Oram said: “The school was successful in its application and secured this money to buy tablets for use across the school curriculum.” Geoff Smith the Worshipful Master of The Lodge of the Three Graces, in Haworth, presented a cheque for the donated amount to pupils at the school.

A spokesman for the lodge said: “Lodges are always willing and delighted to be able to help a variety of projects within their areas, and it was a real pleasure for members to attend the presentation at Worth Valley Primary. “The fact that the money will help the school buy IT equipment for the children means that their educational experience will be enhanced. “As Freemasons we are always pleased to support youth projects, and hope that the grant will make a positive difference to the children’s future development in school.”
