Wigan Freemasons raise £3,000 for Charity

There is no shortage of canals and paths in the Wigan area, all within striking distance of the three Masonic halls in the Borough, but the group decided to make one of its MCF 2021 Festival fundraising events a special day out and opted for a sponsored walk along the Lancaster canal.

It is 60 years since PWS was discovered, and the Masonic Charitable Foundation is marking the event with a grant of £10,000 to the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK. The donation will help to fund a support worker for families with a PWS child in the south of England.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice has received £3,357 from Mansfield Freemasons

Bluebell Wood supports around 250 children and young adults with life-threatening conditions each year. Its wide-ranging services include end of life treatment and care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits and much more. It costs more than £4 million for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice to keep its doors open each year and 90 per cent of this needs to be raised through community and corporate fundraising. 100 years of service by identical twin brothers – Freemasons New Zealand

Whangarei to celebrate 100 years of service by identical twin brothers, Bruce and Bryan Wiig. Originally from Bluff, both men were initiated into Freemasonry on the 15th July 1967 in Lodge Fortitude No 64. Over the years they have both moved away with Bruce now living in Auckland with wife Carol and Bryan in Whangarei with wife Marie.

New Zealand Freemasons donate $50,000 to the New Zealand Rugby Foundation

The Freemasons Foundation has donated $50,000 to the New Zealand Rugby Foundation which partners with New Zealand’s seriously injured rugby players.

The donation was announced at a charity evening hosted by the Freemasons Foundation at the North Shore Masonic Centre in Albany, on the night of the second test between the All Blacks and British and Irish Lions rugby team.
