As part of their recent extensive clubhouse renovations, ensuring that the facilities are not only fit for purpose for the club membership but also to provide quality facilities for use by the wider local community, Northumberland Freemasons donated £3,000 through the Richard Henry Holmes Masonic Benevolent Fund. The money has been used to purchase a public address system which was integral in the running of their recent community fireworks and Bonfire Night and is regularly used to replay films taken from activities preceding celebration events.

Donations from Lodge Members to the initiative, which was led by Bro Chris Fraser, totalled £1500 and one of Oriental Lodge’s younger members, Bro William Cheung, drove down to the Midlands to collect essential N95 masks. Northumberland Freemasons held a special evening at Newcastle East Masonic Hall to present more than £125,000 to charities and deserving projects throughout the region.

The Trustees of the Richard Henry Holmes Benevolent Fund meet twice a year to consider any requests for financial help and support from worthy causes in the Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside areas.
