More than 30,000 cardiac arrests occur out of hospital in the UK every year, yet just 1 in 10 people survive. Immediate CPR and early defibrillation are crucial steps in saving someone’s life.
For those WMs and Wardens who haven’t replied yet, I would like to invite you to attend the 2016 WM and Wardens Conference, which is to be held at: The Uxbridge Masonic Centre, Western House, 4a Hercies Road, Hillingdon, Middlesex UB10 9NA on Saturday 17th September 2016, commencing at 10.00AM. Coffee and registration will be from 9.30AM.
The annual golf day of St Martins Lodge, Birmingham was held at Shirley Golf Club. 20 members of the lodge played on the day and the Lodge Trophy was won by the current Master of the Lodge, Malcolm Francis. The competition for the Lodge Trophy has been played every year since 1948. W Bro Michael Gregory, the Lodge Treasurer won the Chapter Trophy.
A sporting clay pigeon shoot in aid of Wales Air Ambulance at Haimwood Shooting Ground on 16th July raised £1910
WM of 1084 lodge of MMM, Howard Morgan, presented a cheque for this amount to a representative of Wales Air Ambulance, at their HQ at Welshpool airport, on Monday 25th July.
Mr David Eager of The Surrey Masonic Sports Association, has been awarded the Order of Mercy, a prestigious medal, for his voluntary service over many years to charities and non profit organisations in the United Kingdom and overseas.
Tuesday 12th to Thursday 14th July 2016 saw the 158th Annual Great Yorkshire Show at the Harrogate Show ground.
For over 15 years Brethren from both The Province of West Riding and the Province of North & East Ridings, joined forces to fly the flag and spread the word to the Great British public.
Harlow Talking Newspaper enjoyed their own happy headline when the organisation was presented with a large donation.
Members and guests of Bredenstone Lodge No 8093, meeting at St Margaret’s-At-Cliffe, turned out in force on the 28th June 2016 to celebrate the lodge’s 50th anniversary.
The lodge celebrated this momentous occasion by holding a ‘white table’ meeting, led by its Master Bill Harrison, which involved quickly dealing with the lodge business before admitting the non-masonic guests. Everyone was then treated to a brief history of the lodge by Past Master Lew Finnis.
