Born in Salzburg on 27th January 1756, he was baptized the following day at St. Ruperts Cathedral as Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart. Theophilus means ‘beloved of God’ and Mozart later used the Latin form Amadeus, -stylized sometimes as Amade or Amadeo- or the German form Gottlieb. His father, Johann Georg Leopold Mozart was born in Augsburg in Bavaria, where the Mozart family can be traced back to the 14thCentury

Freemasons of Oxfordshire Golf Day Raises over £500 for Charity

The Prestigious SE England Masonic Province Golf Championship was this year held on the 14th July at Betchworth Park GC, Dorking.The event was very well supported with circa 60 masons from 4 provinces across the south east attending the event close to Box Hill in Surrey, the Oxfordshire Province Masonic Golf Society (OPMGS) fielded two teams. Both teams with an eye on winning the Trophy.

Once the Lodge was open, there was a report, which little did anyone know would result in W.Bro. Mike Murphy PrAGDC walking in with wand in hand to announce the visit, to everyone’s shock and delight!
