On 23rd June, a day of very unsettled weather, on a wet but otherwise immaculately presented Tenterden Golf Course, Peter Shardlow regained the title he last won in 2013 of East Kent Provincial golfing champion winning the Geoffrey Gordon Dearing Bowl. Peter was the only competitor on the day to better the course par, with Daren Horne finishing runner-up.
The Association has had a busy start to the year first with a stand at the Provincial Grand Lodge held at the Lincolnshire Show ground
The Annual Provincial Golf Tournament – The Ted Barker Memorial – was again held at the Portal Premier Golf Club, Tarporley on Wednesday 1st June 2016. The event, organised by Tarporley Lodge No 5431 and was a Fourball, Betterball, Stableford.
Ellesmere Golf Club, Worsley, which is a beautiful parkland course that measures 6287 yards and is a testing par 70 and has a clubhouse that was rebuilt in 1996 and has all the facilities required to accommodate golfers in comfort on completion of their rounds, was the venue for the annual Eccles and District Group golf competition.
The planning for the Strawberry Tea starts in the January WBro Phil Aubrey and myself meet up to prepare the tickets, posters and raffles for the Home. This is followed by numerous meetings of the activities committee to ensure the smooth running of the event
Driving through standing water on the A49 approaching Ombersley Golf Club on Thursday many would have thought about heading home rather than playing Golf.

On a hot summers evening brethren from the newly amalgamated Ormskirk and Bootle Group, accompanied with their wives and many guests attended the FROTH Gala Cabaret Dinner and Dance, which Bootle Group has been running annually for the last 20 years. This year the event was held at the magnificent surroundings of the West Lancashire Golf Club.
On 7th June, on a warm humid day when thankfully the threatened thunderstorms failed to materialise, golfers from across the Province descended on West Malling Golf Club to contest the 2016 inter-lodge/chapter championship for the William Blay Trophy.
