Woodstock Freemasons Defibrillator Donation

(L-R) Bro. Mark James, W.Bro. Brian Mayling and W.Bro. Ray Claridge

Kate Bailey, Manager of WUFA (Woodstock Under-Fives Association) had a long-held ambition to provide a public access defibrillator outside her pre-school unit in New Road, Woodstock. A tentative request for assistance to Woodstock Masonic Hall Committee received a surprising response.

The Woodstock Freemasons, agreed to purchase the complete unit and provide the cost of installation. It was installed free of charge by Bro. Mark James (electrical expertise) and W.Bro’s Brian Mayling, Ray Claridge and Jim Flinn (who supplied the manpower) on a bitterly cold Saturday.W.Bro. Adrian Pallett is now making arrangements to provide training for staff and volunteers to use the defibrillator, which will again be provided free of charge. WUFA are hoping to arrange a formal handover with press coverage. Brian Mayling, WMH Committee Secretary observed that this is a great example of Freemasonry working for the local community and hoped other projects will follow.
