From babies to young people up to the age of 21, Shooting Star Chase support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

Receiving hospice care does not mean that a child’s death is imminent – in fact many who visit are living active lives but wish to have some time in a supportive, caring environment.

They support families living in London and Surrey. Their care is for the whole family, offering a bespoke service to suit each member’s individual needs.

Support is free of charge to families and available 365 days a year.

Their care service includes short breaks at two hospices (Shooting Star House in Hampton and Christopher’s in Guildford), Hospice at Home, day care, symptom management, end-of-life care, bereavement care and a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family.

Finding this a most worthy charity in the local community W.Bro Frankie Whelan and W.Bro John Warren the Worshipful Master and Secretary of The Richmond Lodge, No.2032 had the pleasure to present a cheque for £550 to Miss Ellie Bennet the Masonic Lodges and Chapters Community Fundraiser at Shooting Star Chase House Children’s Hospice in Hampton.

The Donation was made from the The Pro Provincial Grand Masters incentive to support a local charity at Christmas by making a donation from the Lodge for £300 and the sale of two wonderful Christmas cakes both made by Bro. Robert Miller which sold, one at a charity auction to the Master of the Girdlers Company in London, of which to note, from 8 Cakes auctioned Bro.

Robs sold for the highest amount of £120 with him being the only non-professional chef, and the second which was raffled off individually at our December meeting raising £130.

The Richmond Lodge No.2032 is proud to support Shooting Star Chase in 2018 and will see three of its brethren this year once again embark on another ultra-challenge.

Having last year completed the Marathon des Sables for 20/20 and being placed a respectable 251 of 1280 competitors W.Bro Frankie Whelan, will this year run the London to Brighton Challenge with Bro Charlie Clifford and Bro. Robert Miller.

They will run together but two for The 2020 Festival and the other in support of Shooting Star Chase, two most worthy causes for young people.

This will see our brethren among 2,500 intrepid adventurers of all ages & experience who will Walk, Jog, or Run Capital to Coast over 100km.

Setting out from Richmond along the Thames, over the North & South Downs, and through wonderful Sussex countryside with full support & hospitality all the way to the celebration at the Brighton finish line.

In its 7th year, the London 2 Brighton Challenge has become one of UK’s greatest endurance events and a great opportunity to raise awareness and money for worthy causes.
