Freemasons donate 41 vehicles to Blood Bike Groups from all over England and Wales

In 2016, Mark Grand Lodge organised a sponsored walk through the seven Royal Parks in London, which raised a massive £440,000. Worcestershire’s Walkers, led by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Jeff Whiteley, was the largest team to complete the walk and raised a goodly sum towards the total.

Grand Lodge decided to use the funds to purchase vehicles for the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes (http://www.bloodbikes.org.uk) and on Friday 17th August there was a ceremony of dedication and handover of 41 vehicles to Blood Bike Groups from all over England and Wales. The ceremony was rather appropriately held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.

Worcestershire’s Blood Bikers are the Severn Freewheelers, who were present at the ceremony, represented by Joe Logan and Gordon Downie, who met with representatives of the Province, the Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Bro. Eric J. Rymer, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, V.W. Bro. John A. King and the Provincial Grand Charity Steward, W.Bro. Mike Gage.

The dedication was carried out by V.W. Bro. Revd. Bruce Harry, the Grand Chaplain, followed by a presentation on the M.B.F by R.W.Bro. Tony Morris, Deputy President of the M.B.F., who then handed over the keys to the vehicles, both motorbikes and cars, to the various representatives.

Mark Masons can be proud of their generosity in providing these vehicles to a wonderful organisation.
