20% of every ticket sold to members of the masonic fraternity and their guests, including the booking fee, will be donated to the 2021 Festival funds. This means that the Festival will benefit by £2.64 for every ticket sold for the Ellington Showcase. For Jacqui Dankworth’s concert the return per ticket sold will be £3.08.
Excellent Companion Barry Bower, Provincial Chapter Grand Director of Ceremonies held his first Chapter DC forum on Saturday 23rd July, at Cleator Moor Masonic Centre.
Jim Woods, a grand officer and a past master of Peace and Unity Lodge No 3966 and Landmark Lodge No 7273 is in his 74th year. For many years he was the local care officer for the lodges and chapters on the Fylde coast
Ruislip St Martins Lodge, No.9125 is to be honoured by the attendance of the Assistant Grand Master – R W Bro Sir David H Wooton – at its 19th September meeting, when he will be officiating in the dedication of the lodge banner.
Peter Coates, master of Peace Lodge No 2269 said that the members of the lodge are pleased to support Asthma UK with some of the monies raised at the lodge’s Ladies’ Evening and Olde English night.
The event was very well supported with 32 golfers taking part. Following the distribution of prizes a magnificent £610 was raised for Masonic charities and a further £50 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital; chosen by the Captain of Southport Old Links Golf Club for the hospitality shown by the staff and club.
In life, it’s good to remember our history and practice traditions. A fine example of both amply relate to Durham School, which was founded in 1414, that’s over six hundred years’ worth of history to reflect upon. The historic school buildings and chapel blend in wonderfully into the landscape of the ancient city of Durham with its Castle and Cathedral. Former pupils are known as Old Dunelmians
The Worshipful Master of Roll Call Lodge, No. 2523, W. Bro. Roy Woods and his wife recently hosted a fantastic weekend away, at which over £1,000 was raised.
The Provincial Grand Master (in company with a great many Shropshire Masons) has been delighted to congratulate W Bro David Tudor on his recent award of an MBE for services to Charity. He received the award on 11th June from Her Majesty the Queen (our Grand Patron).
Despite spasmodic drizzle it couldn’t extinguish the BBQ nor dampen the spirits and enjoyment of Gateway Lodge (6374) Members and their guests at the Lodge Annual Summer BBQ held in a members garden backing onto the canal at Chester on Saturday 16 July.
