Dorset Freemasonry hosted the Masonic Annual Charity Event (MACE) Bowls Competition as part of their celebration of the Tercentenary of English Freemasonry.
Sir David was introduced to Lifelites through his role as both a high ranking Freemason, and as Master of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, a livery company for senior practitioners in the information technology industry. Since learning more about the charity’s work, he has decided to lend his name to help the organisation and the children it supports.
A HOME which offers families with sick and disabled children respite care has been given a boost by Freemasons in Devizes.
Paddock Wood Freemasons were delighted to present a £1,000 cheque to Wealden Sailability, to support them in their project involving disabled children and adults.
Last Christmas the Provincial Charity Steward, Wayne Smith, asked you to consider supporting your local communities by sponsoring a child from a disadvantaged background to attend a Pantomime during the Christmas holidays. An initial two hundred and fifty places were reserved and thanks to your magnificent response, six hundred and ninety disadvantaged Children, Parents and Carers had a special Christmas treat! Jean-Ovide Decroly was born on July 23rd, 1871 in Ronse, Belgium. He studied medicine at the University of Ghent and spent half a year studying at the University of Berlin. At the University of Berlin he studied the action of toxins and antitoxins on general nutrition. After starting his medical practice he became involved in a school for mentally and physically disabled children. It was through his work at the school that Decroly became interested in education.
The Witta’s Island Lodge was honoured by a surprise visit by the Provincial Grand Master and his Deputy on Friday 15th July! Once the Lodge was open, there was a report, which little did anyone know would result in W.Bro. Mike Murphy PrAGDC walking in with wand in hand to announce the visit, to everyone’s shock and delight!
On Wednesday 1 June 2016 Tarporley Premier Golf Club hosted the South Cheshire Masonic Golf Annual get-together a group who provide Wheel Chairs for disabled children. Following an exhausting 18 hole game played at this picturesque course members attended their Annual Dinner.
