Promoting the Fraternity across the World
This year the Herefordshire Masonic Charity Association invited representatives of those local charities to a coffee morning at the Masonic Hall in Kyrle Street, Hereford. They were welcomed by the Provincial Grand Master, Rev David Bowen, and were given a brief talk on the history of Freemasonry and the part that charity plays, by the Provincial Charity Steward, Nick Swan
Following a 50 Year Certificate presentation to E.Comp. Bryant Lightfoot of Chapter of St John, No. 327 in Wigton, a collection was made which raised £217 in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
Twenty two Group 3 coordinators from the Almoner, Chapter, Charity Steward, Mentor and Media offices attended the morning seminar and found it extremely beneficial. Individual thoughts, feelings and experiences were shared and the way ahead was more clearly defined for the benefits of the both the Group and the Province.

The fourteenth National Service Day took place at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, on Sunday 26th June 2016. With a large audience and many invited guests and participants, this event was splendidly organised by Gerald Rose, who is the Chairman of the National Service Veterans Foundation. W Bro Gerald is also a Past Master of Sutton Pilgrims Lodge, where he has been a member for over 50 years.
Headway Birmingham & Solihull is a local charity that the Province of Warwickshire has supported for several years. Headway is a brain injury association, acknowledged to be the leading national brain injury charity. The Birmingham & Solihull branch (formerly known as Headway West Midlands) is a relatively small, but growing voluntary organisation with ambitious plans for future expansion of its services. The meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge saw Alan Jones step down and be replaced by Peter Schofield as Chairman of Furness and South Lakeland Group.
