Ferrum lodge donated a further £5000 to the Masonic Samaritan Fund, taking their total donations to over £20,000, and were elated to learn that they would now receive the honorific title of Patrons of Festival 2018.

A second cheque for £1600 was then presented to the Chairman from the proceeds of the Middlesbrough Lodge’s Spring Ball, which was held recently at Gisbrorough Hall

Since emerging from the basement of Freemasons’ Hall, where I have been a charity president for the past nine years, to assume the appointment as Grand Secretary, I have felt very humbled by the numerous letters, emails and tweets of support and encouragement that I have received. Last Christmas the Provincial Charity Steward, Wayne Smith, asked you to consider supporting your local communities by sponsoring a child from a disadvantaged background to attend a Pantomime during the Christmas holidays. An initial two hundred and fifty places were reserved and thanks to your magnificent response, six hundred and ninety disadvantaged Children, Parents and Carers had a special Christmas treat!
