The members of Chorley Chapter No 6287 gathered to take part in the installation of Peter Horgan as first principal. The chapter companions were honoured by the presence of Frank Umbers, Ken Shaw, John Robson, Tony Hall Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah and Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals designate, Peter Allan group vice chairman designate plus many acting Provincial grand officers.

David Hatchard installed Peter Horgan as first principal, Peter Horgan installed Chris Peters as second principal and Chris Peters installed Simon Dalley as third principal; all under the watchful eye of John Bicknell in his last ceremony as director of ceremonies.
The scarlet robe address was presented by Don Hesketh, the purple robe address by Andrew Cogle and the blue robe address by Eric Kos.
Frank Umbers brought greetings from the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison and congratulated all those who had taken part in a ceremony that was delivered like a well oiled machine. He also passed on warm regards and best wishes for the forthcoming year.
Frank thanked David for the generous donations the chapter had made: Derian House £100, Friends of Ecclesholme £100 and £300 to the tercentenary appeal.
The evening continued with a fine festive board that provided everyone with good food, good wine and very good company.
The three principals’ song was sung by John Darrell with musical accompaniment provided by Mike Hatton.
