WIGAN and Leigh hospice has been boosted by a £1,000 donation from Leigh Freemasons.
Masons from Lilford Lodge visited the Hindley-based hospice to present the money, which was collected by all seven Masonic lodges in Leigh.
Group chairman Len Hart said: “All of the lodges in Leigh contribute an amount of money every year, and each lodge decides which charity it should go to.
“We have donated to the hospice before but we have chosen it again because it is a charity which looks after local people.”
Christine Edwardson, community fundraiser for the hospice, said: “We are very grateful to Leigh Masons for thinking of the hospice and making such a generous donation.
“This money will go towards helping people in Wigan and Leigh living with a life-limiting illness.”
