A charity which helps people with disabilities take part in sport has received a £4,500 donation from a group of Norfolk Freemasons.
Members of the Wroxham-based Boileau Lodge have completed a triathlon to raise funds for Wheelpower, which offers opportunities for disabled people to get active.
£126.00 was raised for the TLC, by raffling a large bear, a sum of over £630.00 was raised for Local Charitable Causes, including Tam O’Shanters Urban Farm, who also supported the event
Hand Heart Pocket, an independent charity founded by the Freemasons of Queensland, announced on Monday they would be donating $120,000 to keep Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ) call centre running until long-term funding from government could be secured.
Every year, freemasons from the several lodges meeting in Daventry get together to make a joint donation to a local recipient chosen by the Worshipful Master of each lodge in turn.
This year it fell to the Worshipful Master of Coritani lodge, WBro David Smith to select the beneficiary and David chose the “Friends of Danetre Hospital”.
On Wednesday 26th July Cheshire Freemasons were invited to the opening of a fully refurbished bathroom and Wet room at Claire House Children’s Hospice at Clatterbridge on the Wirral. The Almoners Page and 3 others shared Blackmore Vale Lodge, Sturminster Newton hosted the Dorset Masonic Knowledge Quiz Final and retained the Barnes Trophy for the fourth year running.

MiH was launched in 1948 with a grant to provide live music concerts in mental and orthopaedic hospitals and in TB sanatoria. The organisation now provides live music performances across the healthcare sector for adults and children, now covering the UK and the Channel Islands.
