Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance receive £4,000 Donation from Freemasons

A donation of £4,000 by the Freemasons Grand Charity has been delivered to the Air Crew at Baginton Airfield, the air base for Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. This donation is on top of the £5,000 allocated in the annual distribution of funds from the Warwickshire Masonic Charitable Association earlier this year, and a further £5,000 as a result of the accumulated funds from the Provincial Grand Master’s Famous Five in September last year. Similar amounts have been donated to the Midlands Air Ambulance – their Freemasons Grand Charity donation will have been presented by the Province of Worcestershire. The Provincial Charity Steward presented the donation, whilst the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Chris Rogers remained firmly fixed behind the camera.

An interesting discussion with members of the Air Crew provided a lot more background to the “state of the art” equipment in use in the helicopters which Freemasons have helped to provide. In England & Wales, there is no government funding for the service, although some staff are seconded from the NHS. The Province will continue to support both local Air Ambulances.
