Visit to United Grand Lodge

PGL-UGLE-visit sm
On June 11th 2014 the regular Quarterly Communication of the United Grand Lodge of England was held at Freemasons Hall Great Queen Street in London. The recently installed ProvGM, his Deputy and Assistant Provincial Grand Masters were accompanied by over 60 brethren of the Province, making their way by any and all means to arrive on time for what has become the annual Provincial outing.
Brethren were treated to the impressive spectacle of a Grand Lodge meeting in this most awe-inspiring building. The organisation and control of the many hundreds of brethren from all over the UK and the World goes like a well-oiled machine, allowing the inward procession of the Honoured Guests to commence exactly on schedule and with apparent ease. The Pro Grand Master was in the chair for this meeting and addressed the brethren on the importance of our ritual and the benefits of it being learned rather than read.
After the meeting the opportunity was taken to have a group photograph with the magnificent façade of the building as a backdrop, many of those present retired to The Freemasons Arms, a local hostelry, filling both dining rooms, for a most enjoyable festive board filled with fun and fellowship. After an excellent meal the ProvGM thanked everyone for coming, and along with his deputy toured the second dining room to address all those who had attended.
This is a visit not to be missed. Active Masters and Wardens are encouraged to attend, but you are advised to book early when the Provincial Secretary notifies the date and timing of the next visit.
