Underneath the inscription, the relief shows the working tools of the dead likely master mason or builder.
There is a two roman feet gauge (regula) , a setting level, compass (circulus ), square (norma), a line with plumb bob (perpendiculum ), a setting maul (malleus) and a bundle of chisels (scalpra).
