The Masonic Remembrance Tie

This year marks the Centenary of the signing of the Armistice in 1918, bringing an end to the Great War, the First World War. The loss of life was horrendous and included some 3000 Masons whose supreme sacrifice is recorded on the War Memorial in Freemasons’ Hall. The Remembrance Tie has been specially commissioned by the Province of Derbyshire, in conjunction with The Royal British Legion; to reflect the debt of gratitude that is owed to them and to those Masons who have fallen in conflicts since.

A plain and simple tie, bit with tremendous meaning. Those two well-known symbols, the Poppy and the Square and Compasses, joined together. The poppy is at 11 o’clock – the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month and the Square and Compasses are positioned at approximately 5 o’clock – the hour at which the Armistice was signed.

The Tie has the approval of both The Royal British Legion and UGLE. The proceeds of sale will go to The Royal British Legion and The Provincial Charity.

This tie may be worn throughout the month of November and is available to purchase now at £10 (P&P £1.50) each from Martyn Bertalan, 31 Longford Street, Derby DE22 1GJ

Please make cheques payable to “Provincial Grand Charity”. (Multiple purchases can be made for Lodges etc with reduced postage, please contact Martyn on 07960 434061 for prices.)
