Starting a busy week for the Provincial Team, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Wardens and the AGDC presided over the installation of W Bro Phil Hill as Worshipful Commander of St Egwin Lodge RAM No 1135, at Evesham on Monday the 10th May.
A good meeting to witness W Bro Bill Gregory install his successor in a most enjoyable ceremony. A splendid turnout prompted no doubt by the inclusion of Evesham Asparagus on the menu at the Festive Board.
Kings Heath, Birmingham.
On Thursday the Presiding team moved onto All Saints Kings Heath Lodge of MMM No 1462 where W Bro Alan Clift was assisted by W Bro Keith Blizzard, and others, to Install W Bro Tony Taylor as Master.
Although Advanced in All Saints Lodge in 1996 W Bro Tony has waited 20 years before taking the chair of All Saints. He is however a very experienced mason and was Worshipful Master of his Warwickshire Mark Lodge, St Martin’s, during 2006.
A splendid meeting held in a warm and friendly atmosphere topped by W Bro Irving Horne’s rendition of the Masters song.
Redditch.
The week ended on Friday 13th May with Bromsgrove Lodge No 1334 holding its first ever meeting at its new home in Redditch. The occasion fittingly marked by the Advancement of a new member, Brother David Broome, in a ceremony shared between V W Bro John King and W Bro Bob Rice. This was followed by the Installation of the new Master, W Bro Gordon Grew, who last occupied the chair in 1997, by the outgoing Master W Bro Mike Phillips. Gordon being well known as a great supporter of his lodge filling any office whenever needed.
