Porthkerry Freemasons Lodge donate £763 to Goshin and Kudo Academy.

Porthkerry Lodge have, for a second year running, helped to raise funds for a local group, Goshin and Kudo Academy.

They hosted a ‘cheap as chips’ night at the Barry Masonic Temple, where around 80 guests enjoyed a chip supper, had a flutter on a series of horse races and were royally entertained by local musician, and lodge member, Tony Hill and his band.

A raffle was held with many donated prizes culminating in a grand total raised of £763.50. Organiser Karl Butler, also a Lodge member. Karl wishes to thank Mal and Mary Lucas for all their dedicated hard work in arranging the food and the racing.

The group’s Shihan, Malcolm Jones, also gave a fitting thank you to all those attending and pledges the monies raised will be used to refit their Dojo in Fairford Street, Barry, where they teach traditional karate in the Goshin style and Japanese MMA in the Kudo style.
