Freemasons of St Clement Lodge Skegness Donate £500 to the RNLI

St Clement Lodge Present a Cheque

The Freemasons of St Clement Lodge, Skegness, represented by their Worshipful Master, Bro Cark Hird and Lodge Charity Steward, W Bro Mike Newbold, presented a Freemasons charity grant of £500 to the RNLI Skegness Lifeboat.

The presentation was made on Remembrance Sunday as the RNLI crew returned from the wreath laying service at St Matthews Church. The Station Coxswain Ray Chapman MBE, and Deputy Coxswain Richard Watson accepted the donation saying it would be used for buying essential safety equipment for the station and crew. The visitors were then shown the impressive new landing tractor for the forthcoming new advanced Shannon class lifeboat arriving at Skegness in January.

This Freemasons charity grant is part of a total of £75,000 made annually by the New Benevolent Fund of the Freemasons of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Lincolnshire to deserving charitable causes throughout Lincolnshire, based upon the recommendations of the local Lodges.
