Freemasons help the East Lancs Hospice Christmas Fayre

Sunday, November 12th, 2017

At 08.30AM on Saturday 8 East Ribble District Freemasons assembled at Oswaldwistle Civic Arts centre to support East Lancashire Hospice’s Christmas Fayre.

It did not take long before the volunteers were put to work moving and arranging tables and assisting the stall holders to unload their vehicles.  As the time for the Fayre opening approached the volunteers reverted back to their specialist activity, marshalling.  With 2 Brethren manning the main carpark, 2 manning the smaller carparks and wheelchair entrance and the 4 remaining volunteers manning the main entrance to the Fayre, despite the day being cold it remained dry and all of the brethren enjoyed themselves chatting with the public whilst supporting a very worthy cause.  Throughout the day the volunteers were provided with plenty of refreshments and food by the Hospice team.

‪At around 3PM the Fayre was closed and in no time at all the brethren loaded the Hospice van and headed on their way after another rewarding day of volunteering.‬
