Freemasons donate £1,000 to Tavistock Riding for the Disabled Association

A TOTAL of £1,000 has been donated to Tavistock Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) Carriage Driving Group by local freemasons.

Every spring and autumn freemasons from all around Devon meet to support local organisations and charities in the county by distributing the annual interest of the WAKE Fund, a trust conceived by member William Alexander Kneel.

Among the 25 organisations who received a total of £25,000 from the WAKE Fund this month was the Tavistock RDA Carriage Driving Group, nominated by Chris Burchell of the Bedford Lodge 282 Tavistock.

Provincial grand master for Devonshire Ian Kingsbury said: ‘I am delighted that the freemasons of Devon are able to continue to contribute to these important local causes, many of which are totally run by volunteers.’
