Essex Freemasons cycling 880 miles for Charity

TEAM: Adrian Deadman, Geoff Turpin, Daniel Rosewell and Trevor Back

A TEAM of keen cyclists are about to take on the ride of their lives for charity.

Four member of Essex Freemasons, named collectively as Team Jogle, are taking on the 880 mile trek from John o’ Groats to Lands’ End.

Geoff Turpin, of Blackmore End, Adrian Deadman, of Colchester, Daniel Rosewell, of Southend, and Trevor Back, of Great Bentley, are all taking on the challenge in aid of the Freemasons’ Masonic Charitable Foundation.

The riders have been training for the mammoth slog since the start of the year, and will begin their ride on Saturday, July 15.

Mr Turpin said: “We are all keen cyclists, and have taken part in several fund raising events over the years but this time we decided we needed a real challenge.

“None of us have ever taken on something this big and we are looking forward to it.

“We all reckon that we can cover more than 100 miles day – especially as our supporters are telling us that it is all downhill – and if we are successful we hope to raise more than £10,000 towards that £5 million target.”
