Durham Masonic Rugby Football Club look for Support

Durham Masonic Rugby Football Club, working out of Spirit of Rugby Lodge 9910, are looking to recruit players, coaches, match officials, administrators, organisers, spectators and anyone interested in raising money for charity by playing rugby in the Durham Province.

They are looking to have two or three local (friendly) games against Durham clubs early in the new year with an aim to have a “big event” game at the end of the season against a “Barbarians” Military Veterans touring team.  Spirit of Rugby Lodge already has a liaison with this team with members traveling down country to get involved in two recent matches.  Charity funds raised at these away games has been considerable and we hope to raise even more when they play us next year on a return visit.

To register your initial interest, please take just two minutes and log on to https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/KCBM9R8 so they can get a list of those who are willing to get involved in this worthy cause, whilst getting your boots on and having some fun raising money for charity.  Once they know who wants to get involved they can start firming up on arrangements for games.  If you want to play, there is no commitment to playing a whole 80 minutes; if 10 minutes is enough for you, then that’s fine.

As the nature of the final game, involves Military Veterans, they would also welcome serving or retired military personnel getting involved so if you are part of any local military clubs or organisations or know people who would like to get involved, please pass on this information.
