Carlisle Freemasons help to struggling charity

THANK YOU: Face masks and aprons were donated to the Carlisle Hospice

Huge demands have been placed on charities during the pandemic which has left them unable to fundraise as they would normally.

Every donation is vital and the team from Eden Valley Hospice are thanking Masonic Lodges in Carlisle after they donated a vast array of PPE.

A spokesman for the charity said: “We’d like to thank the Carlisle Masonic Lodges for their extremely kind gesture in donating PPE equipment to the hospice, which we were delighted to receive and thank them for thinking of us at this time. This will allow our staff, patients and visitors to remain as safe as possible.

“We rely on donations to cover 80 per cent of our running costs which is why donations such as these are vital at a time when our fundraising activities have dropped off dramatically but the need for our care is increasing. We’re constantly overwhelmed by the support of people ensuring their hospice is supported – thank you.”
