HELP WANTED

The Grand Lodge of Scotland is in advanced negotiations with BBC Scotland about creating a high end documentary. Charting the history and development of Scottish Freemasonry from 1598 to present day.

They are hoping to reveal how Freemasonry has helped shaped Scotland, (and the world) we live in today. For example, many Brothers will know that without the help of Freemasons, Robert Burns would never have had his poems published or have been popularised. And that without Freemasonry,  Scotland may have lost its favourite son.

They are needing help in finding stories just like that. There are many instance of famous Freemasons but in order for the project to go ahead they really need your help in finding how Brothers (famous or not) have directly used Freemasonry to inspire them to do great things. (Invent things, form institutions, change laws or improve society in other ways.)

Has any of your personal research revealed anything to you?

Please be aware that any stories that you relate must be verifiable with solid facts.
