Are you interested in Rugby and Masonry? If you will excuse the pun, there has been an idea kicking around the Province for a year or two to start a Rugby Lodge in Essex and with the advent of the Spirit of Rugby Lodge in Kent the project has been given some impetus.
The idea is to form a Lodge for the promotion and enjoyment of Rugby, Freemasonry and Charitable works. To qualify you would need to be an Essex Mason who is or has ever been a member of a Rugby Club or an associate through the Schools Rugby Associations or Armed Forces and Emergency Services.
How would The William Webb Ellis Lodge sound to you? Meeting three times a year, one South of the Province, one Mid Essex and one in the North. The Week before the English domestic season starts, the week before the start of the Six Nations and the week after the season ends. Perhaps there could be an extra meeting under dispensation every four years before the Lions Tour?
There are lots of ideas floating about which are all open to addition, subtraction and discussion. A Festive Board with some Rugby traditions?
