Freemasons make Charity Donation for Skegness Coastwatch

Earlier this year in recognition of their service to the local community the National Coastwatch volunteers at Skegness received a charity award from the St Clement Lodge of Freemasons in the Province of Lincolnshire

Each Freemasons Lodge within the province has a Charity Steward who also raises additional funds for charity from special events.

The Horncastle and Spilsby conclave of Charity Stewards has run several fund raising charity events last year, and as such has been able to make further additional donations to local Lincolnshire charities and good causes from the proceeds of these events.   Recently they have funded a new bench for the elderly in the gardens at Woodall Spa, and are currently funding outdoor desk benches at Snipe Dales Country Park and nature reserve near Horncastle for visiting school children.

Recently the Freemasons heard  that the National Coastwatch at Skegness is building a new lookout sea safety station at Winthorpe Road, positioned in the grounds of the Derbyshire Miners Convalescence home, right on the promenade with panoramic views over the North Sea and the wind farms being built there. The station will be equipped with much technical communications and weather station equipment, and was currently short funded. The Conclave of Charity Stewards were honoured to make a donation of £500 towards this project in recognition of the service provided to the local community by the volunteers.
