Faith, Hope and Charity - Provincial Grand Lodge of Durham

The Trinity Lodge motto is Faith, Hope and Charity and on the evening of 27th April 2016, the latter came to the fore when a cheque for £1,000 was presented to NSPCC for its charitable work with children in the North East.

The presentation came at the end of Trinity’s regular monthly meeting when Mr Nihad Ćehić, Community Fundraising Manager for NSPCC North East, was invited into the Lodge Room at Freemason’s Hall, Darlington, to give a short talk about Children’s Initiatives ongoing in Darlington and the Teesside area. Mr Ćehić stated that, “90% of all NSPCC work is funded from charitable donations such as Trinity’s and the money would ensure at risk children and families got their lives back on track.”

Handing over the money, on behalf of Trinity Lodge, were Tony Petch and Neil Mallet, the present and past Masters of the lodge. Neil Mallet had guided the lodge to raising half the money last year at a very successful event called “Brass on the Grass”. It only remained for Tony Petch to encourage the Trinity brethren to part with the other £500 to round off the sizeable donation.  Trinity have a good record of raising money for charity having donated over £13,000 in recent years for charitable causes. Tony Petch emphasised that, “Trinity believe in its motto especially the Charity aspect!” The evening was rounded off with Mr Ćehić joining the Trinity brethren and guests for a tasty dinner.
