The Branch fishing events this year proved very successful with three days for the children, the first at Gilcrux on Wednesday 11th May and the second and third days at Tarnhouse Tarn near Kirkby Lonsdale on the 17th and 18th May respectively.

On Wednesday 17th February WBro Herbert Garside Hulme, who is known to just about everyone as Bert, celebrated his personal 60th Anniversary in the Craft. The Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VWBro Derek N Thornhill PGSwdB, accompanied by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master for the Southern Area, WBro John Pearson PSGD and the District Chairman, WBro Peter Douthwaite PProvGSwdB, were present to mark this exceptional occasion.

W.Bro. George Tumbridge joined the Home Guard at the age of 16 and in 1942 he was called into the Army and was posted to the Royal Armoured Corps as a Driver/Signals Operator. In 1944 he volunteered to join the 6th Airborne Armoured Regiment, and trained on light tanks to be transported in Gliders.

The time is 8-30am on Saturday the 19th March. The Education and Development Committee members are arriving at Salford Masonic Hall to prepare for the 8th “Let’s Talk Masonry Conference”. AMD London – Second of the District’s luncheons
