Volunteers from East Ribble District recently provided support to Child Action North West Pound Day event that was held at Oswaldtwistle Mills.
Just like last year, a group of excited Victory Lodge members, friends, wives and partners left Blackburn at 7:30am on Sunday 12th June 2016 on a coach driven by the Blackburn Masonic Hall Chairman – a certain Phil Beaumont. “The Courier” – Sue Beaumont, most ably assisted him.
On Friday 3rd June, Manchester Hall was the venue for a special evening when the Brethren and guests of Cornucopia Lodge No. 4553 celebrated 60 years in Freemasonry of WBro Brian Bint PProvJGD.
The Masonic trailer made another appearance in Blackburn town centre at the Countryside Comes to Town event. The stall was set up early in the morning on Church Street opposite the market, and was manned by a few volunteers throughout the day until the 5.00pm close.
The intention is to have a really enjoyable evening whilst raising the profile of the Royal Arch and hopefully, longer term, to attract new members. As such the event is open to all Masons (especially non RA members) their wives, partners, families and friends. Although being held at Bury, the event is really a Province wide initiative and your support will be greatly appreciated.
In total, during the evening, the Freemasons of Audenshaw and Ashton & Mossley, through their Lodges and Chapters, gave away more than £34,000.00 to a series of good causes. During the course of the evening we were privileged to see forty local charities and good causes receive donations of between £100.00 and £3,150.00
Sixty-Two Brethren, including WBro John R. Farrington, PSGD, The Assistant Provincial Grand Master for the Northern Area of the Province of East Lancashire, accompanied by Grand Officers, Provincial Officers of the year and a District Delegation, signed the Tylers attendance register of Marsden within Pennine Valley Lodge No. 6183 on Tuesday 24th May 2016, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary in Freemasonry of WBro Francis Stuart Jackson, PProvJGW.
It was a very special evening for Worshipful Master VWBro Nolan Morrison PGSwdB, PDepProvGM and the Brethren of Integrity Lodge on Tuesday 21 June, when they welcomed the Provincial Grand Master RWBro Sir David Trippier and RWBro Sir Stuart Hampson Senior Grand Warden of the United Grand Lodge of England for their celebration meeting marking 250 years of the Lodge.
The Senior Social Group was formed by Maxine Walsh to support people with early onset dementia, who have found activities in other groups inappropriate or unappealing, and has helped both families and carers by enabling them to meet people in similar situations.
The Western Area Grand Officers dinner took place on Monday 7th June at Ashday Lea, hosted by the Assitant Provincial Grand Master, Norman Cope.
