The Installation of Allan Maxfield as Worshipful Master of Hesketh Lodge No 950 took place recently at Fleetwood Masonic Hall. Allan had stepped in at the last minute and indeed his election was only confirmed on the night.
The representative of the Provincial Grand Master was Harry Cox, supported by Terry Hudson, Brian Mayoh, Neil MacSymons, and several Acting Provincial officers.
With the regular lodge business swiftly dispatched by the Worshipful Master Steve Heginbotham, it was time to install the Master elect. The Worshipful Master proceeded to invite Derek Williams to act as installing senior warden, Bob Stringer to act as installing junior warden and Ron Fenton to act as installing inner guard. The Master Elect was presented by Jack I’Anson.
The Master Elect was ably and sincerely installed by Steve Heginbotham, with assistance from Mike Lamerton . It was pleasing to hear the brethren singing the rarely heard Processional Ode. The working tools were particularly well presented by Ron Fenton, Peter Dunn and Mark Ivison.
Brian Mayoh then delivered the address to Allan, which was followed by addresses to the wardens by Terry Hudson (at the last minute), and to the brethren by Harry Cox.
At the conclusion of the installation Harry congratulated Steve on the manner in which he had installed Allan and expressed his wish for the Master to have a happy and healthy year in office.
On behalf of the lodge, Allan presented Harry with 2 cheques totaling £500 for the benefit of West Lancashire Masonic Charities.
