Freemasons donation to Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust

Ian Kingsbury JP, provincial grand master for the Devonshire Freemasons, handed over the cheque to Miles Pomfrett, a trustee of the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust.

Miles said: ‘We’re most grateful for this donation which has gone towards the cost of a replacement all-terrain ‘workhorse’ vehicle, making life much easier for our volunteers.

New Provincial Grand Almoner for West Lancashire

Eric Hart was appointed and invested as the Provincial Grand Almoner at Provincial Grand Lodge. He succeeds Ernie Greenhalgh who has retired from the office in order to undertake other national responsibilities within the Masonic care system. Eric will also shortly assume the same role as PrGAlm within Provincial Grand Chapter.

Freemason Oliver Russell, 2nd Baron Ampthill

Russell was born on February 19th, 1869 in Rome, Italy. He was educated at Eton and graduated from New College, Oxford. While at New College he began rowing and rowed for Oxford against Cambridge. In 1894 and 1898, he served on the original Olympic committee.
