The group donated £2,200 to the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity for its Rory the Robot appeal, which is aiming to ensure all men in Worcester have the option to have their prostate cancer surgery via robot.
Each year, the money raised at the December meeting of Brigantes Lodge, which meets on Station Road in the town, is donated to a charity chosen by the wife of the Worshipful Master.
Brendoncare’s head of clubs, Sam Agnew, said: “We are very grateful to the Hampshire and IOW Freemasons for this very generous grant and, through our dedicated volunteer training programmes and volunteer forums, are already beginning to see the impact this contribution is having on our volunteering teams across the county.”
East Lancashire Freemasons boost for St Ann’s Hospice
The donations have been granted to the Parkinsons’ support group, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, Bourne 2 Care, Dyke village hall, Macmillan Cancer Support, a guide group and mental health charity Don’t Lose Hope.
A further £450,000 will be provided to individual hospices across England and Wales via Hospice UK, the national charity for hospice care.
