The Prestonian Lecture is the only lecture given under the authority of the United Grand Lodge of England. William Preston (1742-1818), the foremost Masonic educator of his time, left a legacy to provide for an Annual Lectureship.
Freemasons show their continued support awarding St David’s Hospice £2504 towards the specialised care for patients across North West Wales with advanced illnesses or those in need of end of life care.
The Friendly Lodge, which meets in Eastgate, secured £5,000 from the Freemasons Province of Yorkshire West Riding grants fund, whilst lodge brethren and members of Friendly Chapter, raised a further £1,250 towards the Oaks Memorial Disaster Fund.
