The WM of St Peters Lodge, W Bro Phil Sutherland, has constructed a raft to take part in a sponsored raft race on the river Towy on July 2nd. The race runs from Carmarthen to Ferryside, where the appropriately named lifeboat “The Freemason” will be on stand-by. W Bro Phil is keen to show his thanks for the excellent support he received from the Stroke Unit at West Wales General Hospital some years ago by raising money for the unit.

The craft is to be named the “MV Gwenllian” (after the Gwenllian Ward – with MV standing for Masonic Vessel) and W Bro Phil is happy for this to be borrowed by other lodges within the Province if similar opportunities arise local to them.
