Masonic group adopts, refurbishes rose trellis

Members of a local Masonic group have repaired and restored the damaged rose trellis on Market Street. Shown working on the structure are from left, John Cooper, Mark Cooper, Steven Allore, Theo Allore and Glenn Foley of the Ames 88 chapter of the Royal Arch Masons.

A damaged and run-down rose trellis on Market Street has been repaired and adopted for summer maintenance by the Ames 88 Royal Arch Masons.

The group also weeded, cleaned up the bricks and planted flowers under and around the roses.

A tree fell down and damaged the trellis, leaving it in bad shape. This rose garden was originally constructed in 1991 and some of the memorial bricks have been damaged by the weather.
