A German fayence blue and white pewter-mounted tankard and hinged cover (Fayencekrug) of Mining/Masonic interest , third quarter 18th century, decorated with arms supported by two bearers and surmounted with a crown and eye, above the motto GLICKH.AVF (sic), blue ‘K’ mark to base, 23cm high Note. ‘Gluck Auf!’ is a traditional greeting for German ore miners, essentially to wish luck and still in use in parts of eastern Germany today.
