The North West Air Ambulance charity is delighted to have received an extremely generous donation from a number of Freemason provinces in the North West.
The West Lancashire, Cheshire and East Lancashire Provinces gathered together to donate £4,000 each to the charity, which flies life-saving missions across the North West.
Each Province is able to donate a sum of money each year to the charity of their choice. The combined donations of all three Provinces mean that the North West Air Ambulance charity has received the very generous sum of £12,000.
Stanley Oldfield, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, West Lancashire,who is also an ambassador for the North West Air Ambulance visited the air ambulance base at Barton alongside two young Freemasons, Philip Barr, of Bryn Lodge, and Tom Edwards of Willows Lodge, so that they could meet the crew and see them in action.
Mark Carroll, Head of Development at the North West Air Ambulance said: “Our helicopters have a maximum flying time of ten minutes to the nearest appropriate hospital from anywhere in the North West.
“It costs over £4.2 million a year to keep both of our helicopters flying and saving lives across the region. We would like to thank the Freemasons for their generosity and support. Donations like these help to keep our two helicopters operational.”
