It was a kind gesture when Pam and Tom Croll opened their house and garden in Blundellsands Crosby to hold a plant sale, with the all the proceeds raised on the day being donated to the Tithebarn Care Home in Crosby. Tom, who is a member of Crosby Lodge No 3714, is a very accomplished horticulturist and has in the past sold many of his plants within the group, notably at the annual Christmas fayre and has also exhibited a number of plants at the Southport Flower Show in the past.

Pam and Tom had a large selection of plants laid out for sale in their garden and in their greenhouses, with a vast choice of small shrubs, perennials, bedding plants and a few readymade hanging baskets available to buy; all at very reasonable prices.
It was very popular with many people visiting throughout the day to purchase plants and Tom was on hand to give his expert advice on the plants, answering many questions on how to care for the plants in the future if needed.
In the house, refreshments were available to purchase, with Pam serving tea or coffee and there was also a large selection of tasty homemade cakes made and donated by Gloria Gee, wife of Ian Gee WM of St Luke’s Lodge No 6006, again all helping to raise funds for Tithebarn
Joe Williams, also from Crosby Lodge, helped out on the day by acting as the cashier for the plant sale and also sold tickets for the raffle with a number of prizes, with the draw being held at the end of the day. Pam and Tom raised in total £551 at this event which they will be presenting to the Friends of Tithebarn at a later date.
