Derwent Mark Freemasons have donated £300 to Loweswater Suite at West Cumberland Hospital, Hensingham.

The lodge donated the money after a charity collection was taken at a recent meeting, where David Yates was installed as master of the lodge.

David said after he had witnessed for himself the wonderful palliative care carried out in the Loweswater Suite at the hospital, it was his wish that the proceeds should go to that ward.

The specialist care at the suite offers patients pain and symptom relief in an environment that is specifically designed to be calming and relaxing.

Nurses from Loweswater suite were given the donation from members of the lodge in February.
