BMCF Breaks the 600 barrier with grants of £1,200,000

Since making its first grants in February 1992, the Bucks Masonic Centenary Fund (BMCF) recently made its 600th donation during its May 2016 committee meeting.

The grants range in value from £250 to over £10,000 and a total amounting to over £1,200,000 has been given to deserving causes in the Buckinghamshire area over the last 25 years.

Beneficiaries have included; Hospitals and Hospices, Schools, Scouts, Guides and Youth Clubs, Residential Homes as well as private individuals and many other varied and worthy causes. The monies granted have been used for some most interesting projects, ranging from; community garden projects, the provision of sports equipment and even to the refurbishment of kitchens and lounges in care homes.

The BMCF gets its funds from donations made by Lodges within the Masonic Province of Buckinghamshire. The committee meets three times annually, and usually has up to £15,000 to distribute at each meeting. The criteria for the beneficiaries to receive a grant are quite strict and guidance can be found in the Charity section.
