DONATION: Carlyon Lodge Past Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Richard Collings, Clare Bray of Cornwall Hospice Care and Mrs Andrea Collings

THE Worshipful Master of Carlyon Lodge No. 7392, Worshipful Brother Richard Collings, who meet in St Austell, has just completed his full year in office, during which Lodge members helped him organise numerous fund raising events.

Together, Richard with the support of his wife Andrea, family members, friends and Lodge members have held a silent auction night, a strictly come dancing evening and of course the annual Ladies Festival.

Richard said: “The Ladies Festival is the highlight of any Lodge Social Calendar — it’s a fantastic night and the perfect opportunity to give something back to our wonderful wives and partners for all their support with event planning and encouragement throughout the entire year.”

Carlyon Lodge year came to a close with a final total of £6,255 raised and this included a very kind donation from Barclays Bank of £1,000. All the funds raised have been donated to local charities to help with the ongoing care of many of our loved ones, and this included £5,736 to Cornwall Hospice Care who have been a great supporter of the Province of Cornwall.

Freemasons are always willing to help others where they can, especially in the wider communities, even if it’s just to donate a small amount of money to help support a local person, to enable them to carry on doing the sport or activity they enjoy. It’s always a pleasure to help others in need!
