Dear W Bro Rudd,

Please allow me to introduce the DMCCC to you. We are a group of freemasons, their families and friends who have a shared interest in Camping and Caravanning. As well as freemasons from Durham we have members from Cumbria, Northumberland, Yorkshire and across Scotland. Each year we arrange a number of caravan and camping rallies, mostly in the North East but we have also held rallies in Scotland, the Lake District and Yorkshire. The aim is to enjoy the great outdoors and the emphasis is on relaxed family enjoyment.

Rally locations vary from commercial sites with full facilities to simple farms with less sophisticated amenities.

For much of the weekend we do our own thing – go for walks, maybe do some shopping, visit local attractions or just relax. In the evenings we will often get together and have a drink and a chat. Sometimes we will have a barbeque or get a takeaway and on occasions maybe some games!

All excess income raised by the club during rallies and events is donated to charity, both masonic and non-masonic.

I draw your attention to one event in particular. The DMCCC has organised a Rally in the grounds of the magnificent Raby Castle from Thursday, 30th June to Sunday, 3rd July, 2016. This rally will coincide with the Raby Gala to be held on 2nd July, which is in aid of the Durham 2021 Festival in aid of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys.

The gala will provide a fun day for all the family and is packed with fabulous attractions and displays, along with countless stalls. There is continuous, rolling entertainment in the Main Marquee during the Gala and also entertainment on each of the three nights; a Punch night on Thursday, a Country & Western Night & Hog Roast on Friday and a LUAU (Hawaiian Party) on Saturday. The total cost of the rally is £40.00 per unit and includes entry to the Gala for all occupants. There is extra charge for the Country & Western Night (£10.00) and the LUAU (£20.00). All proceeds of this rally will be donated to the Festival.

The DMCCC in general and, specifically this event may be of interest to some of the freemasons of Northumberland and I would be grateful if you could arrange, via the provincial communication network, to bring this email and attached flyer to their attention.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours sincerely,

W Bro George Slater, PPGReg
