At the last regular meeting of City Lodge Bill Hobson attended in his capacity as Festive Hall Ambassador. It was his pleasure to inform the Worshipful Master, and brethren that City Lodge was making great strides towards reaching its target towards the 2021 Festival. He announced that the lodge contributions to date had earned them the eligibility of Silver Medal.
He congratulated the Lodge and presented their Charity Steward, Geoff Smith with a Silver lapel pin to mark such an impressive achievement.
However, the tables were turned on him when he was presented with a cheque for another £200 to be contributed to the lodge total by Daniel Gallimore. Daniel had organised a fishing competition during the summer break. The event had been a great success and this donation was a result of the proceeds of that event, which Daniel hopes to repeat next year. A little birdie tells us that he won the event, however, ultimately the prize will be achieving the Festival total to help boys and girls.
