ILKLEY Freemasons’ Ben Rhydding Lodge donated £1,074 to local charity Carers Resource during the recent Carers’ Week.
The Masonic Provinces of Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire have been invited to send Standard Bearers for the last 3 years. Last year we in Derbyshire only paraded one standard with a small contingent headed by The Provincial Grand Master RWBro Steven Varley.
The Middlesex Home Service Lodge No.5836 celebrated its 75th Anniversary on the 10th June 2016 at the Twickenham District Masonic Centre at Cole Court.
The meeting was attend by W.Bro. Brian Fisher, PSGD, AProvGM and his Provincial Team for the Installation of the new Worshipful Master Bro. David Glenham.
This year the Herefordshire Masonic Charity Association invited representatives of those local charities to a coffee morning at the Masonic Hall in Kyrle Street, Hereford. They were welcomed by the Provincial Grand Master, Rev David Bowen, and were given a brief talk on the history of Freemasonry and the part that charity plays, by the Provincial Charity Steward, Nick Swan
Provinces may enter as many Masonic shooters as they wish and every entrant’s score will be registered.
The Team Winners in the Competition will be the 3 highest scores posted for a given Province.
Despite atrocious weather conditions in the morning which almost rendered the course unplayable, the ground-staff worked wonders to enable our 32 players to get out on the course. Unfortunately, during the event the weather once again intervened to ensure that everyone had, if not an enjoyable day, definitely one which they will long remember with a certain number of balls being ‘retired’
The team enjoyed another successful day out at East Barnet Festival on Sunday, the second time we’d attended this event.
It was a delight and a relief to see that Summer had decided to grace us with its presence for the day and the crowds correspondingly came out in volumes.
A combination of glorious weather and the organisational skills of the Lancaster and District Masonic Group golf representative Arthur Laycock helped to ensure a wonderful day when golfers from the Lancaster and District Group took part in the local round of the West Lancashire Provincial Golfing Tournament at Bentham Golf Club.
In response Debbie Williams expressed the thanks of the Association. There is a continuing need for funds on the Wirral, particularly in sourcing equipment such as home stairlifts, specialist wheelchairs and the adaptation of homes for those newly diagnosed with MND
Following a 50 Year Certificate presentation to E.Comp. Bryant Lightfoot of Chapter of St John, No. 327 in Wigton, a collection was made which raised £217 in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
